Dry Cereals

A good snack while at work or any other time... Dry Cereal

Tomates

The Mexican Supermarket near my house carries everything bulk. Maybe its because Hispanics tend to have larger families than Anglos, maybe its because they like to make Tortilla Towers and huge Tostada Displays... FYI- Tomatoes in Spanish is Tomates.

Before the farm! Coco and I went to Madame Matisse in Silverlake. There is nothing bad on their menu- never have I been so satisfied by a restaurant.

the farm!

Coco's family owns a 30 acre farm 10 miles west of Moorpark, Ca. It's beautiful

Party Pasta

Since I have stopped drinking or doing drugs, I have found it increasingly difficult to be my old charming self. This breaks my heart, slowly and painfully. For I do not feel adequate in social situations thus I resort to taking pictures of the food at said social events and then, sitting in a corner and observing everyone socialize... gosh- I just re-read this and it sounds pretty depressing. Its true though- so whatever.

Tamales

I feel completely and entirely indifferent about my co-workers but for some unknown reason I actually gave a bit of a shit about them on this recent holiday season, that's why I bought them all a big batch of (sweet) Tamales- they were made with sugar and fruit instead of meat. Most often, in Mexican culture, these are saved for dessert or are served for breakfast.
They enjoyed them and not-all of them said thanks...

health

I've been cooking a lot more since moving to back to Downey from Echo Park (Ca.). I like cutting softish veggies and fruit and then throwing them on a pan with little-to- no oil.

cinnamon

Cinnamon the only thing I like to sprinkle on things. It didn't used to be this way, I used to love sprinkles of cocaine on a bowl of choice cannabis... it felt so good to be 20.

Beans and Rice

This year my family switched over from Pinto to Peruvian Beans... I must say- Machu-Pichu has brought the goodness!
If the point to this is to chronicle my meals for an entire year then I predict about 200 more photos like this.

Maiz

The Key ingredient in Pozole, or as I like to call it, Mexican Haggis.
